Nader Fathi

Nader Fathi is serial entrepreneur and veteran of the Big Data industry.  He was CEO of SigmaQuest, a Big Data for Supply Chain solution, which he cofunded in 2002.  Camstar Systems successfully acquired SigmaQuest in 2010 and Nader lead its Supply Chain Quality practice until 2012.  

 

Nader mentors and advises startups as the Executive-in-Residence (EIR) at the University of Southern California Stevens Institute for Innovations and the Plug and Play Tech Center in Silicon Valley.
Nader is the acting CEO and President of IntraStage, a Supplier Quality Big Data analytics provider.  He is currently on the advisory board of Glassbeam, Machine-toMachine analytics.  He has coached Big Data companies in various vertical markets including sports, retail, health/fitness, and environmental analytics.Previously, Nader held management positions at Ikos, Cadence, and Daisy systems.  

 

He started his career as a software and chip designer at Xerox Microelectronics.Nader holds a bachelor and masters in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and completed his coursework toward a PhD.  He has also 
completed certification programs in marketing, business and Gamification at UCLA, The Wharton School, and UC Santa Cruz.

Angela Pan is the co-chair for AAMA Conference Committee 2013.  She is a manager at Hanhai Investment leading investor and corporate relationship, training and mentorship program, partnership and operations.  Prior to that, she worked at two consumer internet startups, where she led business development, marketing, and public relation.  In addition, she managed several culture exchange and training programs at British Council and was featured in a documentary program on national TV in Singapore as a personal successful story.  She holds a B.M. in Business and Logistics and Supply Chain Management from University of South Australia.  In her spare time, Angela is an avid traveller and an enthusiast in interior design, arts, and culinary arts.

Rodrick is the CEO for SaaVee Inc, a security product company specializing in BYOD solutions.  SaaVee also has an IT services arm focusing on Cloud Computing, Mobility (Mobile Apps) and Big Data. 

He previously worked as VP for Cloud Computing, and was one of the key members in Management team at Rofous Inc. He was responsible for the Sales and Business Development of the Consulting group. The group helped clients with the Cloud Strategy. Rofous was recently acquired by GlobalLogic in June, 2011.

Prior to Rofous, he was the COO for Sun Professional Services Sales division. The division is responsible for generating revenue of $1.3B. He developed the business operational reporting capabilities (leveraging IT) that is used worldwide for Management to get all the data analysis instantly. He is also instrumental in forming the group specialized in DataCenter Efficiency (DCE). DCE helps datacenter environment greener by reducing carbon footprint.

Rodrick started his career at Oracle Corporation. He designed, developed, and implemented the Oracle Financials (ERP) and Manufacturing  Applications. He worked in the Development teams later worked in the Oracle Consulting Group traveling the world helping clients implement Oracle Applications. He later settled in Singapore managing the Oracle Consulting Group for ERP Applications and Datawarehousing. 

After Oracle, he joined Aspect Communications (CRM Applications) and headed the Consulting division for Asia Pacific. His group is responsible for screen-pops and customizing the CRM applications to local needs.

Canice Wu joined as President of Plug and Play Tech Center, after being an Executive in Residence at Plug and Play.

 

He has over 20 years of experience in developing and scaling successful businesses from concept to market leader. Prior to joining Plug and Play Tech Center, Wu was CEO of Insights OnDemand, providing on demand Business Intelligence Solutions. Prior to Insights OnDemand, he was Vice President, General Manager and COO of CRM and Industry Solutions at Siebel Systems. He came to Siebel from Booz, Allen & Hamilton where he was a management consultant specializing in forming business strategies and market penetration plans for Fortune 500 companies. Canice is also on the board of AAMA as well as a member of Sand Hill Angels.

 

Canice has a BS and MS in Computer Science from MIT, and an MBA from University of California at Berkeley.

Charlene Yu Vaughn

Her career spans from global advertising giants, Young & Rubicam and Ogilvy & Mather to a founding executive of Time Warner Interactive to the President/CEO of Chuck Jones Studio Productions to President/CEO of the Tunes Network, Inc. (tunes.com); the Chairman/Founding CEO of Middlewire to her current position as the CEO/Founder of The Algonquin Group.

 

Through her work at The Algonquin Group, Ms. Yu Vaughn has served as the strategic advisor to over 50 leading revenue-generating emerging technology and media companies and international ventures in information technology, healthcare/life sciences, clean technology, digital media and consumer products in securing funding and accelerating their strategic growth, revenue, strategic alliances and business development. Her firm, The Algonquin Group, assists privately held and publicly traded US companies in their expansion into Asia Pac (APAC) and APAC and US companies in their expansion globally as well as into the domestic US market.

Sahil is a second year undergraduate student studying in the Bay Area and pursuing a degree in marketing.  He has already started two businesses in the region; Ballin' Academy, a youth basketball organization that serves the greater Bay Area and Sher Khan Entertainment, a Cupertino based South Asian entertainment company striving to excel in event production.  

 

Additionally, Sahil is an intern at AAMA Silicon Valley working as a marketing intern.  In his spare time he enjoys cheering on local sports teams, dancing competitively and designing websites.  He is also very involved in the local and national South Asian community, volunteering his time at cultural events throughout the community and providing entertainment services at no cost.  Sahil is thrilled to be joining the national Bollywood America collegiate board this year as they prepare to host their fifth anniversary show this April in San Francisco.

Richard Ding

Heidi has a particular affinity for emerging, innovative, and disruptive technologies.  With over 30 years in public relations and communications, her experience in designing successful launches has been used by seed-stage and venture funded startups as well as public companies.

 

Heidi’s skills and strategic guidance have helped companies receive positive recognition for their work. She has helped drive wide consumer and industry awareness of U.S. and European companies and first-of-a-kind product offerings including mobile applications (Android and iOS), consumer electronics, enterprise software, and disruptive wireless  technologies.

Heidi co-founded and was executive VP of a San Francisco-based television commercial production company, G9 Productions, the producers of Emmy Award winning commercials, trailers, and product roll-out features.  Since 1995, Heidi has focused her career within the consumer electronics and emerging high technology markets.

Richard Ding is an analyst intern at WestSummit Capital, a China-based technology investment firm with deep local expertise in China and a global approach to creating market leaders. At WestSummit, Richard assists in deal sourcing on Cloud Computing and Mobile sectors and managing firm’s industry and university relations.  

Richard earned a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
